Hannaford actively seeks out farmers and producers to join our Local program which celebrates not only local foods, but the preservation of farmland, local traditions and local jobs. The connection we have to the source of our fresh foods is core to the way we do business, becoming the first major supermarket in the United States to document that all its seafood products were sustainably harvested.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Observe and follow all company policies and established procedures.\n* Maintain a neat and well-groomed personal appearance at all times and comply with personal appearance policy.\n* Assist in special projects and perform other functions as assigned by supervisor.\n* Assist in training other associates when assigned and certified.\n* Maintain solid communication in the department and throughout the organization.\n* Work within our company's management planning guidelines to maintain productivity.\n* Support company safety standards. Communicate any needed equipment repairs or maintenance work needed. Keep work area free from debris and safety hazards.\n* Treat all co-workers with fairness, dignity, and respect\n* Develop product knowledge in all areas of Bakery Department (rolls, desserts, cakes, muffins, bagels, coffees, platters, etc.).\n* Observe and maintain company's sanitation and food safety standards.\n* Prepare, proof, and bake product as assigned.\n* Perform all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.\n* Effective interpersonal skills and desire to work in a team environment.\n* Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.\n* Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.

Physical Requirements

* Perform repetitive grasping, pinching, squeezing, and hand/arm motions while standing/walking the majority of the shift.\n* Lift up to 30 lbs. 40% of the time and up to 40 lbs. occasionally.\n* Reach to shoulder level or overhead on occasion while lifting up to 20 lbs. on occasion.\n* Tolerate working in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time.\n* Use their hands to operate controls and feel objects, and use tools to prepare products.\n* Be able to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning materials, packaging materials, and food products.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

* Provide outstanding friendly customer service. Communicate with and assist customers in selection of product.\n* Package and display products according to standard practice and our automated production program, taking customer demands into consideration\n* Retrieve and organize bakery product loads.\n* Perform assigned tasks such as replenishing merchandise, preparation of products or setting up displays, etc.\n* Process merchandise properly, paying special attention to rotation of products according to prescribed standards.\n* Maintain accurate, neat records of production, shrink, sales and inventory.\n* Wash, clean, and sanitize equipment in accordance with company guidelines.\n* May be required to frost, base ice, and decorate all varieties of cakes. Personalize when necessary.\n* Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Salary range is between $ 15.00 - $19.65 Hrly

* Stand or walk 100% of the time while working in temperatures of 45 degrees F the majority of the time.
* Perform repetitive grasping, twisting, reaching and hand/arm motions as the product is identified, wrapped, priced and weighed.
* Use hands continuously to feel objects, use tools and equipment to cut and prepare meat products.
* Be able to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning materials, packaging materials and meat products.
* Frequent bending.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

* Perform the meat cutting functions once training is complete. This includes but is not limited to scraping and traying products, cubing steaks, grinding ground meats and cutting and processing meat according to Standard Practice Manual.
* Perform meat associate responsibilities as directed.
* Provide outstanding customer service. Communicate with and assist customers in selection of product.
* Identify, wrap, price, and weigh all meat department items in accordance with specified procedures outlined by standard practice.
* Stock the fresh, frozen, and self service cases using proper rotation procedures.
* Receive any meat delivery, code, rotate, and put in appropriate storage area.
* Wash, rinse and sanitize all cases, wrap stations/area, scaling equipment, cooler, cutting room, including disassembling and re-assembling equipment therein.
* Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
