Job Details: Texas Immersive's Content Creator will support the Director on TXI's thought leadership and her social media. He/She/They will be responsible to create, edit, share, monitor and assist with Professor Reilly's social media and thought leadership.
General Notes:
At the Texas Immersive Institute (TXI), we provide access to emerging technology and research to design for artists, scientists, and humanists who use storytelling to share solutions to big problems that are responsive, responsible, and remarkable. Our goal is to be a leading voice in the future of communication and media through applied creative and research projects using a mixture of live communication methods and emerging technologies.
Purpose:
To elevate the program via social media, help promote events, projects and learning opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Professor Reilly to create engaging and interactive content for all her platforms such as Instagram, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, LinkedIn, etc. This includes filming, editing, adding effects, transitions, music, 3D animation/graphics, captions, etc. to enhance the overall quality of the content.
Manage Professor Reilly's social media accounts by scheduling posts, drafting captions, monitoring engagement, and assisting with responses to comments/messages.
Edit Thought Leadership blogs from faculty affiliates and students. This would include copy editing, checking TXI guidelines to make sure all blogs follow, and scheduling weekly posts on Medium.
Research and prep materials of Guest Speakers with Professor Reilly for monthly Live Q&A.
Optimize content descriptions to improve SEO on Erin Reilly's social media.
Based on Current CV / Bio, keep Professor Reilly's profiles updated (e.g. LinkedIn, Pivot, Orchid).
Stay up to date on any new networking platforms TXI and Professor Reilly should consider as well as Immersive Media and Experiences industry trends to make recommendations for new content.
Assist in tracking and analyzing Professor Reilly's content performance metrics to optimize future content.
Update assigned tasks on a regular basis, communicate questions and add information as needed.
Display enthusiasm and leadership as an ambassador of TXI across the university and in the Austin community.
Required Qualifications:
Current student at UT Austin
Proficiency in social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube).
Proficiency with graphic design and video editing software (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate, Microsoft Office Suite, etc).
Creativity and a keen eye for detail.
Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to adapt to changing priorities.
Excellent verbal communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Comfortable communicating across roles at TXI. Talk/interview students, staff, faculty, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Available to meet with Professor Reilly in person on Thursdays & Fridays.
Attend institute events that occasionally may be outside of normal hours.
Salary Range:
$15/hr
