Commercial Construction Estimator

Our client, a growing construction firm, is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to support preconstruction efforts for commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates by analyzing project documents, performing quantity takeoffs, and coordinating closely with subcontractors, clients, and design teams.This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional looking to grow within a collaborative, fast-paced construction environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates and bid packages for commercial construction projects Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze drawings, specifications, and other project documents Solicit, review, and level subcontractor and vendor bids Assist in developing scopes of work and identifying project risks and opportunities Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and preconstruction teams throughout the bidding process Maintain organized documentation of estimates, assumptions, and historical cost data Support value engineering efforts and cost-saving initiatives Manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines

Qualifications 2–3 years of estimating experience within commercial construction Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building systems Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel in particular) Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams Exposure to healthcare, infrastructure, or public-sector projects preferred Experience working with subcontractor bid leveling and procurement processes
