Position Summary:
The
Pre-Litigation Paralegal
plays a critical role in managing personal injury cases from intake through settlement negotiations. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and the ability to move cases efficiently while delivering outstanding client service. This is full‑time, in‑person (Monday – Friday) position in our Knoxville office.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a high-volume caseload of personal injury files during the pre‑litigation phase
Conduct thorough client intakes and maintain consistent communication with clients
Gather, review, and organize medical records, bills, insurance documents, and other case materials
Draft demand letters, summaries, and correspondence
Communicate with insurance adjusters, medical providers, and third parties
Track medical treatment, liens, and key deadlines
Prepare and submit demand packages for settlement evaluation
Assist attorneys in evaluating cases, identifying issues, and preparing for negotiations
Maintain accurate file documentation and case notes in the firm’s case management system
Provide exceptional client service with empathy, professionalism, and urgency
Qualifications
2+ years of pre‑litigation personal injury experience preferred
Strong understanding of personal injury process, medical terminology, and insurance practices
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Proficient in case management software (e.g. Litify) — or willing to learn
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus, but not required
