Volunteer Marketing Intern OR Volunteer (Content & Communications) 1.5.26 Need 6 interns Location: Gloucester, MA Type: Internship (Part-time; remote) Duration: Flexible (seasonal or semester-based) About Us Clean Shores is a program of Seaside Sustainability, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Clean Shores is dedicated to fighting ocean pollution. We use innovative devices to help remove waste from our beaches and oceans without harming the environment. Our current initiative is to acquire our first BeBot—an eco-friendly, beach‑cleaning robot that will help maintain clean, healthy shorelines starting in the Gloucester, Massachusetts area. Eventually, our goal is to have three BeBots to clean the whole New England coastline (plus New York and New Jersey). www.clean-shores.org Role Overview We are seeking a dependable and detail‑oriented Volunteer Marketing Intern or Volunteer with strong writing, editing, and research skills to support our marketing and communications efforts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creating engaging content and has a sharp eye for accuracy and detail. Key Responsibilities Writing and editing content such as blog posts, press releases, newsletter articles, and email communications Reviewing content for videos and drafting online marketing messages and website content Conducting online research to support blog topics, marketing campaigns, and communications materials Proofreading and reviewing blogs and other marketing materials for grammar, clarity, and consistency Supporting marketing and communications projects as needed Required Skills & Qualifications Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences Excellent proofreading skills and solid knowledge of grammar and style Ability to conduct effective online research and summarize findings clearly Dependable, organized, and able to meet deadlines Interest in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field Strong attention to detail and openness to feedback Interest in sustainability and environmental awareness Bonus skill: Experience with Google ads Learning Outcomes Hands‑on experience in marketing and communications Portfolio‑building opportunities Mentorship and professional development Exposure to collaborative creative workflows Build teamwork and project coordination experience within a mission‑driven nonprofit Work Environment Work with other interns across the globe Interns must have access to a computer, tablet, or mobile device with an internet connection to perform duties, attend meetings, and communicate effectively Interns are expected to commit at least fifteen hours per week and meet weekly deadlines set by their supervisors Duration and Compensation Duration: 5 months (flexible start and end dates) Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.
