
Marketing & Communications Associate

Overview NDSU Team Makers is seeking a Marketing & Communications Associate to support and execute marketing and digital communications efforts that advance membership growth, fundraising initiatives, and supporter engagement. This position is responsible for day-to-day content creation, campaign execution, email communications, social media management, and website updates. This role is hands-on and execution-focused, requiring strong writing skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects independently while working collaboratively with internal partners.
Primary Responsibilities Marketing & Campaign Execution
Support the planning and execution of marketing campaigns promoting Team Makers membership, events, and fundraising efforts.
Coordinate campaign timelines, content calendars, and deliverables.
Ensure messaging is accurate, consistent, and aligned with Team Makers and NDSU Athletics branding standards.
Communications & Social Media
Create and publish content across social media platforms, including written posts and graphics.
Maintain social media calendars and ensure consistent, timely posting.
Monitor engagement metrics and adjust content as needed to support reach and engagement goals.
Email Marketing
Design and distribute email communications to donors, members, and supporters.
Manage email lists, segmentation, and basic performance tracking.
Draft clear, concise copy for digital communications, announcements, and promotions.
Graphic Design & Digital Assets
Create graphics and digital materials for social media, email campaigns, events, and the Team Makers website.
Maintain visual consistency across all marketing and communications materials.
Website Content Management
Update and maintain website content, including event information and membership materials.
Ensure accuracy, usability, and clarity of information.
Coordinate with vendors or IT support as needed.
Work Schedule Regular weekly schedule with required meeting attendance.
Limited work-from-home flexibility may be available.
Evening and weekend work is required at times to support events and game-related activities.
Compensation & Benefits Salary: $55,000 – $63,000

Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, sports management, or a related field.
2–4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or content creation.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or comparable design tools.
Experience managing social media platforms and content calendars.
Experience building and distributing email communications.
Strong writing and editing skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and event days as required.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in nonprofit, fundraising, or athletics-related environments.
Familiarity with website content management systems.
Interest in athletics, donor engagement, and community-based organizations.
Portfolio Requirement Applicants must submit a portfolio of relevant work demonstrating marketing or communications experience. Examples may include graphic design, social media content, email campaigns, or web content. Portfolios may be submitted as links, PDFs, or a personal website.
