About the Role:
We're looking for a Director of US Import Operations to scale Silq's operations and play a hands-on role in helping the Sales team win and retain new clients. This role sits at the intersection of execution and commercial strategy, working closely with Account Management, Sales and the Global Operations team.
This role reports directly to the CEO.
US Import Operations Inbound Execution Ownership:
Run the US Operations team, setting the execution standard across multi-modal inbound freight, right from cargo arrival through final delivery across US and Canada Performance and Accountability:
Own SLA performance across the full inbound lifecycle, milestone execution, exception handling and proactive client communication Team Development and Domain Depth:
Enable the team with expertise, structure and coaching to execute on documentation compliance, customs coordination and carrier releases effectively Vendor Management:
Manage Silq's network of trucking and warehousing partners across the US and Canada, negotiating contracts and setting performance benchmarks Origin to Destination Continuity:
Partner with the Global Operations team, Silq Technology and Finance to ensure clean handoffs, sharp tooling and clean billing across all accounts FMC Compliance: Oversee and manage Silq’s FMC and FMCSA compliance requirements
New Client Solutioning Commercial Subject Matter Expert:
Be the operational authority for Sales and Account Management teams to manage client expectations, advising on routing strategy, execution feasibility and risks Trial Design and Onboarding:
Shape the onboarding experience for new clients alongside Account Management, defining trial scope, aligning on success metrics and delivering a great first experience Client Graduation and Retention:
Stay close to new accounts through the trial period, working with Account Management to remove friction and drive long-term retention
What We're Looking For 8+ years in freight forwarding or logistics
with deep hands-on knowledge of US inbound operations across ocean, air, FTL, LCL and intermodal A people leader
who has a passion for building and leading teams, raising the bar and creating clarity in a fast-moving environment A high-conviction leader
who is excited to shape what a modern freight operations team looks like, from hiring the right people and building the right systems to holding the bar high as we scale The commercial credibility
to sit alongside the Sales team and give prospects and new clients genuine confidence in what Silq can deliver A track record of owning vendor relationships,
negotiating effectively and holding partners to a high service standard driving accountability and performance Startup or high-growth experience strongly preferred
