
Construction Superintendent

What You’ll Be Responsible For Lead all on-site construction operations from mobilization through closeout Manage and coordinate 30–60 subcontractors and field personnel Drive and actively manage the project schedule, including participation in lookaheads and sequencing Maintain daily logs, manpower tracking, and site documentation in Procore Read, interpret, and execute based on architectural and engineering drawings Identify existing conditions and proactively resolve issues before they impact the project Coordinate closely with the Project Manager on logistics, sequencing, procurement, and schedule updates Maintain a clean, organized, and well-controlled job site in line with company standards Enforce safety protocols, conduct toolbox talks, and maintain safety documentation Coordinate and manage all required inspections and ensure timely sign-offs
What We’re Looking For Proven experience as a Superintendent on retail or commercial interior projects Ability to run a job site independently and make real-time decisions Strong leadership presence with the ability to control subcontractors and drive production Ability to read and fully understand construction drawings (architectural, MEP, structural) Strong understanding of project scheduling and sequencing Ability to identify issues early and solve problems proactively in the field Clear communicator who can coordinate across field teams, PMs, and ownership Experience working in NYC construction environments Strong understanding of: Tight site logistics and limited staging Working in occupied buildings Delivery coordination and vertical transportation Familiarity with DOB inspections, permits, and closeout requirements Ability to manage both union and non-union subcontractors Active OSHA 62-Hour SST certification required
Technical & Systems Requirements Ability to manage and track schedules and contribute to overall project sequencing Experience with Microsoft Project is a plus Proficiency in Procore for: Daily logs Photos and documentation Coordination with PM team (schedule, RFI's , Submittals...etc) Ability to follow structured project workflows aligned with company SOPs, including: Daily reporting Safety tracking Inspection coordination Two-week lookahead planning
Preferred Qualifications Background in carpentry or a hands-on trade Experience delivering high-end retail or flagship commercial projects Experience working in fast-track project environments
