Summary/Job Purpose: The Sourcing Director leads strategic and technical procurement operations and supplier relationship management to optimize costs, quality, and supply chain efficiency. This role combines tactical sourcing activities with strategic supplier portfolio development, ensuring reliable supply while identifying innovative solutions and alternative sourcing options. The position requires strong analytical skills to monitor supplier performance through KPIs, conduct quality issue analysis, and proactively manage supply disruptions and shortages. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: · Manage global supplier relationships, including strategic negotiations, contractual relationships, and feedback mechanisms. · Drive development of new, creative ways to source data and new vendors. · Develop commodity strategies, supplier portfolios, and methods to achieve product cost and revenue growth targets. · Lead product and supplier research and ensure optimal management. · Set and maintain individual team members’ targets and objectives, maintain and enforce project timelines, engage team in a constructive manner to maximize outcomes and employee satisfaction. · Assist Purchasing department in clearing bottlenecks with delivery challenges, difficult suppliers, and supply gaps. · Turn inputs from Commercial teams into actionable sourcing solutions to drive revenue growth. · Engage with internal resources to explore options for resourcing or reengineering goods. · Support and develop team members (career development, training) to improve department expertise level, identify technical and developmental knowledge gaps and work with individuals and management team to close those gaps. · Refine and drive documentation of consistent sourcing processes and procedures, ensure their application by the team. · Ensure supply chain quality at supplier and product level. · Define, deploy and lead local sourcing strategy with the VP Global Supply Chain. · Deploy an efficient market watch process to identify and anticipate market innovations. · Can research a new area and get up to speed quickly, adapts strategy to learnings, extrapolates findings to apply to other areas to maximize impact. · Ensure reliability and update of the database. · Attends trade and industry shows for supplier development, maintains customer relationships to source additional data, performs branch and fleet assessments, and visits vendors to maintain relationships. · Willing to travel up to 50% of the time.
REQUIREMENTS / REQUESTED QUALIFICATIONS: · High School Diploma required · Bachelor’s Degree preferred · English language skill required · Spanish, Portuguese, French, or German language skills are a plus · Five years’ sourcing or procurement experience within GSE, automotive, off-highway vehicle, aviation, or other mobility field required · Experience in procurement of vehicle electrification, charging, sensor enablement, or telematics components and related services strong plus · Strong knowledge of supplier relationship management and sourcing · Experience in managing teams and team development · Ability to work under deadline pressure · Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel as well as ERP systems · Ability to communicate strategic vision, report progress towards deliverables · Lean, six sigma, or project management experience is a plus · Attention to detail, highly organized, multi-tasking, continuous follow-through, keen ability to research and learn new things
SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTONOMY: · Lead or support the recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of the team assigned under his/her management · Ensuring alignment with company goals · Provide ongoing coaching, set clear performance expectations, monitor progress, and conduct regular performance reviews. · Foster a positive team culture, address issues promptly, and implement strategies for employee engagement, growth, and retention. · Manage disciplinary actions when needed and ensure accurate documentation of team performance and development in coordination with HR department. · Respect group’s ethics and business conduct rules and procedures.
