About the Opportunity The Director of Business Development will play a pivotal role in expanding the company’s presence in the higher‑education market. This leader will identify new opportunities, cultivate meaningful relationships, and help shape the company’s long‑term growth strategy. The ideal candidate brings deep industry knowledge, a strong network, and the ability to influence decision‑makers across campuses, districts, and higher‑education systems.

Key Responsibilities Build, strengthen, and expand relationships with higher‑education institutions across Southern California. Develop a robust pipeline of opportunities in partnership with the VP of Business Development. Increase brand visibility by attending and participating in conferences, associations, and sector‑specific events. Demonstrate a strong understanding of higher‑education facility needs, capital planning, campus priorities, and funding mechanisms. Engage confidently in client conversations, presentations, and public speaking opportunities on behalf of the organization. Track emerging trends, funding landscapes, and partnership opportunities to position the company for future success. Assess potential pursuits by analyzing project requirements, risks, and profitability. Collaborate closely with internal teams—including Marketing, Estimating, Preconstruction, and Operations—to support strategic pursuits. Contribute to the development of high‑impact initiatives that align with the company’s mission and long‑term goals.

Qualifications & Experience 5+ years of progressive business development and client relationship management experience within the construction industry. Proven track record of securing construction projects and meeting or exceeding revenue targets. Collaborative mindset with experience partnering across multiple departments to support successful pursuits. Comfortable representing a top‑tier general contractor in public forums, presentations, and industry events.
