Senior Analyst (Asset Management)
Ascension Search Partners, Dallas, TX, United States
We are working on a
Client Advisory
search at the
Senior Analyst and Manager
levels. Our client operates as a
multi‑family office–style asset management firm , working with very sophisticated families and complex balance sheets. The Client Advisory role sits at the center of the relationship—helping clients make informed decisions across
investments, estate and tax planning strategy, insurance, and liquidity , while coordinating closely with outside CPAs and attorneys. Culturally, our client is
privately owned, highly collaborative, and relationship‑oriented , with a strong emphasis on technical credibility and client trust. If you’d be open to learning more, I’d be happy to share details and see if it aligns with where you want to take your career. Why someone would want to work at our Client
“Who you do it with” culture:
The firm emphasizes a collaborative environment and values people who are
hungry, humble, and smart . High-impact client work (no sales pressure):
These roles focus on
deepening existing client relationships — no business development and no sales goals —with meaningful exposure to sophisticated client situations. Complexity + autonomy:
Client portfolios are described as
very complex , often with
$40M–$50M AUM
managed by the Client Advisory teams that you would be part of (with total balance sheets above that), which creates constant variety and interesting planning work. Professional growth + leadership runway:
The team is sizable (close to
40 associates across levels , organized into
pods ) and the search is intentionally hiring for growth, including at least one Manager who can own relationships and develop others. Flexibility that fits real life:
The expectation is
in-office Mon–Fri for the first 90 days , then
1 day/week WFH
is available; the environment is also described as
family flexible
when life happens. Why a CPA-track person would move to a CFP-track role
If you’re coming from Big 4 tax/audit, this is a compelling shift because it keeps the
technical rigor
but moves you closer to
advice, outcomes, and relationships : From “reviewing history” → shaping decisions:
You apply your audit/compliance mindset and tax fluency, but the day-to-day is helping clients decide what to do next—planning strategy, coordinating stakeholders, and producing “client-ready” analysis. Broader toolset (holistic planning):
CFP expands your scope beyond tax/audit into the full wealth picture—investments, estate, insurance, charitable planning, cash flow, and debt decisions—while still partnering with CPAs on tax execution. A professional credential the firm supports:
Our client’s stated direction is
CFP as the goal , and they will
help financially with study materials reimbursement
(noted in the intake). Better alignment with advisory‑minded professionals:
For someone who likes being “in the weeds” technically but wants to be
client‑facing
and seen as a trusted advisor (not just a compliance provider), CFP is the natural next step. Educational/Experience Level
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
