The Boys & Girls Club of Lynn is seeking an experienced, dynamic Preschool Director to lead the planning, launch, and growth of its Preschool Center. This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned early childhood education leader who is excited to open a new site, build a high-quality program from the ground up, and make a lasting impact on children and families in the Lynn community.
This position is *tailored to an experienced Director with demonstrated success in opening a new site and scaling a preschool program*. The Preschool Director is responsible for planning, scheduling, and overseeing all components of the Preschool Program, ensuring alignment with the mission, philosophy, and policies of the Boys & Girls Club of Lynn and compliance with all Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) regulations. The Director provides direct supervision of preschool staff, volunteers, and interns.

*Duties & Responsibilities*
* Lead the development, launch, and daily operations of the preschool program serving children ages 2.9 through 5 years old. * Implement curriculum, assessment tools, and instructional models aligned with best practices in early childhood education. * Oversee daily classroom experiences that promote children’s physical, social, emotional, cognitive, language, and literacy development using developmentally appropriate practices. * Plan, initiate, and oversee monthly curriculum themes and classroom activities. * Create warm, engaging classroom environments that reflect children’s learning through the display of artwork and projects. * Promote positive self-esteem and foster a love of learning in all children. * Establish and maintain daily routines that support health, safety, and positive behavior, including handwashing, toileting, tooth brushing, and effective classroom management. * Observe and assess each child’s development regularly; maintain accurate documentation; and prepare progress reports and individualized education plans as needed. * Schedule and conduct formal parent-teacher conferences at least annually and maintain consistent, meaningful communication with families. * Maintain knowledge of appropriate referral services and community resources for children and families. * Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate Teachers, Teacher Assistants, volunteers, and student interns. * Ensure full compliance with EEC guidelines, licensing requirements, and best practices. * Attend and actively participate in staff meetings, professional development sessions, and required trainings. * Stay current on early childhood education research and trends through coursework, workshops, and professional reading. * Communicate regularly with the Senior Director of Licensed Programs regarding program needs, parent concerns, emergencies, and facility or equipment issues. * Assume administrative and supervisory responsibilities in the absence of the Membership Coordinator. * Maintain and oversee all regulatory, compliance, billing, and accreditation documentation, ensuring confidentiality standards are met. * Participate in additional classroom, school-wide, and community events, including preschool information nights, as needed.
*Qualifications*
* EEC Director Certification required. * Minimum of three years of administrative experience in early childhood education. * Demonstrated experience opening and growing a preschool or early learning program strongly preferred. * Current annual physical examination. * Perennial negative Mantoux (PPD) test. * Current First Aid and CPR certification. * Valid Massachusetts driver’s license with a good driving record.

* Strong leadership, program development, and supervisory skills. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with children, families, and staff. * Ability to build systems, processes, and a positive team culture in a start-up environment. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based systems. * Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. * Knowledge of state and federal early childhood regulations and best practices.
