Plastic Injection Mold Manufacturer is seeking an experienced Plastic Injection Mold Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing high-quality plastic injection molds for production, working closely with engineering, machining, and production teams to ensure efficient, manufacturable designs.
Key Responsibilities:
Design plastic injection molds from part models and customer specifications
Create detailed 3D mold designs and 2D manufacturing drawings
Develop complete mold assemblies including cores, cavities, slides, lifters, cooling systems, and ejection systems
Collaborate with engineers, toolmakers, and project managers during design and build phases
Review part designs for manufacturability and recommend improvements
Procurement of mold base and mold component quotes as needed
Maintain organized documentation and revision control
Qualifications:
3+ years of experience in plastic injection mold design (preferred)
Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, NX, Creo, or similar (SolidWorks Preferred)
Strong understanding of plastic injection molding processes and mold components
Knowledge of tooling standards, cooling design, and parting line development
Ability to interpret part drawings and 3D models
Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Skills:
Experience designing multi-cavity molds
Knowledge of hot runner systems
Familiarity with mold flow analysis
Experience working with CNC machining teams
