A leading heavy civil and utility contractor is seeking an experienced Superintendent to oversee projects across Maryland, Washington DC, and Northern Virginia, based out of the Greenbelt/Beltsville region. This role manages field operations involving utilities, stormwater, sewer, and related civil infrastructure.
Key Qualifications
5-10 years of experience in utility and/or site work
Strong background in pipe installation, excavation, and water/sewer systems; stormwater experience is a plus
Ability to lead field crews, foremen, and subcontractors on active civil projects
OSHA 10 or 30 preferred; strong safety orientation
Solid communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
Basic computer skills (Excel and Outlook preferred)
Responsibilities
Lead daily field operations to ensure projects meet schedule, safety, and budget goals
Coordinate labor, equipment, subcontractors, and materials across multiple job sites
Develop and maintain 3‑week look‑ahead schedules and adjust resources as needed
Enforce safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment
Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, inspectors, and public agencies
Ensure accurate reporting, documentation, and communication with the project manager
