This includes supervising all children’s programming and activities, as well as coordinating and supporting activities connected with Manor Park.The Assistant Director serves as the on-site administrator and supports the overall leadership and daily operations of the Midland College Children’s Center at Manor Park.**Administrative Leadership*** Serve as the administrator of the Midland College Children’s Center at Manor Park* Coordinate the children’s program in accordance with Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) Child Care Licensing regulations and Texas Rising Star (TRS)/CCS criteria for 4-Star designated providers* Maintain quality health, safety, and emergency management standards for the entire center* Maintain a positive working relationship with Child Care Licensing and other community organizations* Update and maintain all center and staff records to ensure compliance* Assist with purchasing daily supplies and materials, and support the selection and purchase of large equipment in accordance with Midland College accounting policies**Staff Supervision & Support*** Communicate professionally and effectively with staff, Midland College administration, parents, and children* Assist in coordinating staff schedules, approving time off, and securing substitutes as needed* Provide training, modeling, and instructional support to teachers in all areas of effective teaching* Assist in ensuring staff complete required annual training hours and orientation* Support teachers in implementing positive classroom management techniques* Promote and model positive guidance and discipline practices**Curriculum & Program Oversight*** Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities for toddlers and pre-kindergarten children* Oversee children’s daily schedules and routines* Provide teachers with scheduled time for lesson planning* Supervise and support child assessments* Monitor children’s records, forms, and immunizations to ensure compliance with Child Care Licensing and TRS standards**Family & Community Engagement*** Oversee enrollment processes, waiting lists, and parent orientation* Support teachers in maintaining clear communication with parents regarding daily activities and routines* Coordinate with Manor Park, Inc. on menu planning for children’s meals and snacks, intergenerational activities with residents, and building maintenance needsPerform other duties as assigned## Qualifications**Required Qualifications:*** Minimum of an Associate degree in Child Development, or a Bachelor’s degree in EarlyChildhood Education, or a related field. Must have six (6) college credit hours in business managemen**t** to meet Texas Health and Human Services (HHS) Director requirements for a licensed child care center* If not already designated as Director Qualified, the candidate must submit the required documentation to Texas HHS Child Care Licensing for the Child Care Director designation upon offer of employment* Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a Texas HHS licensed child care facility or early childhood program* Knowledge of Texas HHS Child Care Licensing regulations for child care centers* Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills* Proficiency in computer and common software applications* Strong organizational skills and effective communication skills with parents and staff* English language proficiency* Current CPR and First Aid certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)* Must complete FBI fingerprinting and successfully pass a criminal history background check* Must be at least 21 years of age* Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License, maintain a good driving record, and be insurable under Midland College’s insurance policy**Preferred Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or related field**Physical Demands:*** Must be in good physical health, energetic, nurturing, and patient* Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds, diaper changing, walking, bending, standing, stooping, reaching, squatting down, stretching, sitting on the floor, rising up from low chairs or when sitting on the floor, and must be able to participate with children on the playground* Must be able to lift children to change diapers and assist children who are being potty-trained* Must be able to push children in the Bye–Bye Buggies* The person in this position frequently communicates with others verbally and electronically; must be able to exchange accurate information* Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus* The person in this position needs to occasionally move or drive to other locations on and off campus #J-18808-Ljbffr
