The Assistant Director of Admission plays an important role in welcoming future Pilots to our community. This position helps advance SJND’s enrollment goals by cultivating interest among prospective students and families and building strong relationships with local elementary and middle schools. The role focuses on outreach, territory development, and creating meaningful connections with students, families, and school partners throughout the admissions process.
The Assistant Director of Admission is a full-time position with benefits and supports the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of strategies that strengthen student recruitment, engagement, and enrollment. This role works closely with the admissions team and colleagues across campus to ensure that every prospective family experiences the warmth, hospitality, and mission of SJND from their first interaction with the school.
The Assistant Director of Admission reports directly to the Director of Admission and works in close collaboration with the Advancement Office to support the school’s enrollment and community engagement goals. The position is appointed by the Principal and operates under the delegated authority of the Principal and Director of Admission.
Accountability The Assistant Director of Admission reports directly to and is accountable to the Director of Admission.
The Assistant Director of Admission is supervised and evaluated by the Director of Admission, in collaboration with the Director of Advancement. Appointment and dismissal are determined by the Principal in consultation with the Director of Admission and Director of Advancement.
Membership The Assistant Director of Admission serves as a member of the Admissions Team and participates in committees and campus initiatives as assigned by the Director of Admission, Director of Advancement, or Principal.
Primary Responsibilities Build and maintain strong relationships with feeder elementary and middle schools to increase awareness of SJND and cultivate prospective student interest.
Represent SJND at school visits, high school fairs, and community events, sharing the mission, values, and opportunities available to students.
Plan and support key admissions events such as Open House, shadow days, information sessions, and campus tours.
Guide prospective students and families through the admissions process, providing clear communication and thoughtful support from inquiry through enrollment.
Manage assigned admissions territories and maintain consistent outreach to prospective families and school partners.
Track prospective student engagement and admissions activity using the school’s enrollment management system.
Support the development and implementation of admissions strategies designed to meet the school’s enrollment goals.
Collaborate with the Admissions Team and Advancement Office on marketing, communications, and community engagement initiatives.
Participate in the evaluation and continuous improvement of admissions programs and processes.
Serve as a visible, welcoming ambassador for SJND for prospective families and campus visitors.
Evening and Weekend Expectations The Assistant Director of Admission participates in key admissions and school community events that occur outside of the traditional school day. These may include evening and weekend commitments such as Open House, information sessions, school fairs, community events, and other recruitment activities. Flexibility in scheduling is important to support SJND’s enrollment efforts and engagement with prospective families.
Salary: $65,000 – $75,000 depending on experience
