EDITORIAL ASSISTANT – HEALIO NEWS
Healio is seeking an energetic and detail‑oriented Editorial Assistant to support our ongoing mission to provide high‑quality news content for a physician audience.
The Editorial Assistant’s responsibilities include:
Assisting editors with the creation of online and print news content
Transcribing interviews
Writing brief assignments that cover multiple medical specialties
Contacting sources for corrections, commentary, or artwork
Conducting brief interviews
Posting articles to the Healio website
Producing email newsletters
Providing general clerical and research support as needed
Qualified candidates must have:
A bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications or a related field
General knowledge of grammar, usage, and style
Willingness to learn
Ability to handle multiple projects with competing priorities for potentially more than one supervisor
Professional demeanor
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and social media is helpful
Applicants with journalism experience are preferred.
The annual base salary for this position is $40,000 to $45,000. Placement within this range is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, education, years and level of experience, and equity with internal team members. Employees living within a 50‑mile radius will be scheduled to work two days per week in our Thorofare, NJ location.
