Requirements:
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of the application as permitted by 65 ILCS 5/10-2.1-6. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age and under 35 years of age at the time of application and at the time the final eligibility list is posted; unless exempt from such age limitation as provided in the Fire and Police Commissioners Act. As one of the conditions for hire as a River Forest Police Officer is that all applicants must possess a minimum of 30 credit hours from an accredited College or University. Applicants must submit proof that they have passed the Illinois Peace Officer Wellness Evaluation Report (POWER) Test valid between
June 6, 2025 to June 6, 2026 . Please upload the following required documentation: A copy of your Driver’s License Birth Certificate College Transcript(s) Power Test Card validbetween June 6, 2025 to June 6, 2026
. If you are unable to obtain a copy of the above documentation at the time of submitting your application, you will be required to bring the documentation with you on the day of testing. STEP 2:

Oral Examination The evening of Monday, June 8, 2026 Details will be provided to applicants that successfully pass the written exam with a minimum score of 70%.
