
Director of Construction Project Management

Chesapeake Search Partners is partnering with a well-established commercial real estate developer, owner, and operator to identify a Director of Construction Project Management. This leadership role will be responsible for overseeing the execution of multiple development projects, ensuring delivery on time and within budget. The Director will collaborate cross-functionally with development, leasing, asset management, and external partners while leading all aspects of project planning, design coordination, construction execution, and financial oversight.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead end-to-end execution of development projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and delivery against approved timelines and cost objectives.
• Partner with internal development, finance, and asset management teams to align construction budgets and project assumptions.
• Oversee design coordination, including management of architects, engineers, and consultants, and evaluation of construction documents and value engineering efforts.
• Manage procurement processes including RFP development, bid evaluation, contract negotiation, and vendor selection.
• Serve as the primary liaison with contractors and construction teams to ensure quality, safety, schedule adherence, and cost control.
• Oversee financial controls including budgeting, forecasting, change orders, and coordination of draw processes with accounting and lenders.
Qualifications:
• 7–15 years of relevant experience in construction project management, development, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related discipline preferred.
• Experience with mixed-use, multifamily, or retail development projects strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects and lead cross-functional teams to successful outcomes.
• Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, cost forecasting, and construction accounting processes.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
