Golf Course Attendant
Oversee and interact with daily golf patrons in a fun, positive, and professional manner while supporting the golf operation through exceptional golf experience for the public. Working as a team with volunteers and other staff members. Observe and enforce safe behaviors while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and excellent customer service to all visitors and participants. General direction and oversight are provided by the Recreation Coordinator
Golf Course and Recreation Assistant - Golf. Essential duties and responsibilities include modeling and fostering the City's core values, complying with work safety standards, responding quickly to emergency situations, preparing golf carts for use, wearing issued Parks & Recreation staff apparel, attending all mandatory trainings, cashiering and assisting with accounting for fees collected, performing routine custodial and labor work, performing miscellaneous maintenance and labor tasks on the golf course, advising golfers of schedules of play, responding to inquiries and complaints from the public, demonstrating punctual, regular and reliable attendance, presenting a positive, professional image, executing assignments efficiently, demonstrating good judgment and employing critical thinking, assisting staff and higher-level management, performing other duties as assigned, and respecting the value of diversity in the workplace and the community. Knowledge, skills and abilities include administering minor First Aid, understanding and following oral and written directions, responding appropriately to an emergency, knowledge of golf course, interest and experience in working with community members in a caring and patient manner, operating standard office machines, communicating effectively both orally and in writing, and physical demands such as walking, standing, sitting, kneeling, stooping, squatting, bending, jumping, running, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 30 lbs. and 50 lbs. with assistance. Work environment includes exposure to chemicals, sun or inclement weather conditions, contact with program participants and the public, exposure to noise and distractions, possible contact with dissatisfied individuals, possible exposure to airborne illnesses and bodily fluids, and a flexible schedule which will include evening hours and weekends. Required minimum qualifications include being 15 years of age, completing a background check (if 18 years or above), and having a Food Handlers Card. Desired qualifications include CPR and First Aid, being bilingual in Spanish, being a golf player, ability to provide golf instruction, and MAST alcohol training (if 18 years or above).
