Role Description
Matrix MKTG is seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Account Director to lead the day-to-day management and strategic direction of assigned client accounts. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for clients, overseeing account performance, ensuring successful execution of client initiatives—including events and activations—and driving overall client satisfaction and account growth.
This role requires a strong balance of client relationship management, strategic thinking, and execution oversight, with the ability to translate client needs into actionable plans for internal teams and deliver exceptional results.
This is a hybrid role requiring onsite work in our Midtown Atlanta office three days per week (Monday–Wednesday), with travel as needed for client meetings, events, and activations.
Salary Range: $105,000 – $110,000
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned client accounts, ensuring clear communication, responsiveness, and strong client relationships.
- Oversee all account activity, ensuring projects, deliverables, reporting, and timelines are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Travel to client meetings, events, and activations as needed and serve as the on-site lead and primary client contact during events.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and overall success of client events and activations, ensuring alignment with client objectives and brand standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, external partners, vendors, and internal teams.
- Monitor account performance and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and present reports on account performance, event outcomes, and strategic initiatives to clients and senior leadership.
- Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and support new business development efforts and client proposals.
- Assist in the development of project briefs and translate client needs into actionable plans for internal teams.
- Provide strategic recommendations and points of view to clients and leadership based on account performance, industry trends, and client goals.
- Collaborate with leadership to address complex client issues, escalations, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure a high level of client satisfaction and overall account health.
Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of progressive client-facing experience within a marketing agency or related environment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing and growing client relationships.
- Strong understanding of marketing, including digital marketing, branding, social media, content, and experiential activations.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience preparing and presenting client reports and performance updates.
- Proficiency in Asana, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism, or related field preferred.
