About The Role
The Leasing Consultant plays a pivotal role in driving occupancy and revenue growth by effectively marketing and leasing residential properties to prospective tenants. This position requires building strong relationships with potential renters, understanding their needs, and guiding them through the leasing process to ensure a seamless and positive experience. The Leasing Consultant is responsible for showcasing available units, explaining lease terms, and facilitating lease agreements while maintaining compliance with all relevant laws and company policies. Additionally, this role involves collaborating closely with property management and maintenance teams to address tenant inquiries and ensure high levels of resident satisfaction. Ultimately, the Leasing Consultant contributes to the overall success of the property by maximizing lease conversions and fostering a welcoming community environment.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in leasing, sales, or customer service, preferably within the real estate or property management industry.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic computer proficiency, including experience with property management software and Microsoft Office.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Real Estate, or a related field.
Certification in leasing or property management (e.g., Certified Apartment Leasing Professional - CALP).
Experience with CRM systems and advanced property management platforms.
Knowledge of Fair Housing laws and local rental regulations.
Multilingual abilities to better serve diverse tenant populations.
Responsibilities
Greet and engage prospective tenants, providing detailed information about available units, amenities, and leasing terms.
Conduct property tours and highlight key features to match tenant needs and preferences.
Process rental applications, verify applicant information, and prepare lease agreements in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
Maintain accurate records of leasing activity, tenant communications, and follow-up actions using property management software.
Collaborate with property management and maintenance teams to resolve tenant concerns and ensure timely move-ins and move-outs.
Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract qualified renters and maintain high occupancy rates.
Stay informed about local rental market trends and competitor offerings to effectively position the property.
