Part-Time Designer (Architecture)
to support our growing
Boston-based
practice and contribute to impactful projects.
In this role, you’ll support multi-disciplinary design teams across a range of project types, including commercial, life sciences, and academic environments. You’ll collaborate with architects and technical specialists to develop design concepts, produce high-quality deliverables, and support project coordination efforts from early design through documentation. This is an excellent opportunity to deepen your technical skills, gain exposure to complex projects, and contribute meaningfully within a collaborative, design-focused environment.
What You’ll Do
Support architectural design efforts across multiple phases, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and documentation
Prepare design graphics, diagrams, and presentation materials for client and internal reviews
Develop and modify drawings, models, and visualizations using industry-standard design and production tools
Assist with BIM coordination and design integration across internal disciplines and external consultants
Participate in design meetings, coordination reviews, and interdisciplinary collaboration sessions
Help maintain project documentation, drawing standards, and quality control processes
Contribute to a collaborative team culture that prioritizes innovation, technical excellence, and design quality
Here’s what you'll need
Bachelor of Architecture
Design experience in Massachusetts
Exposure to or experience in commercial, life science, and/or academic projects
Proficiency with the following software and tools:
Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Premiere
AutoCAD, Revit, Grasshopper, SketchUp, Enscape
Insight 360, Cove Tool
Bluebeam and Microsoft Office tools
Navisworks and Revizto (BIM coordination/support experience)
Strong visual, graphic, and presentation skills
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and quality
Ideally, You’ll Also Have
Master of Architecture or related graduate degree
Additional professional experience supporting BIM coordination and interdisciplinary design teams
Familiarity with sustainability, performance modeling, or integrated design approaches
Experience balancing multiple projects and priorities within a fast-paced environment
Posted Salary Range: Minimum
79,900.00
Posted Salary Range: Upper
109,800.00

The base salary range for this position is $79,900.00 to $109,800.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
