SB Specialty Metals (SBSM) is a full line Specialty Metals distributor with a focus on conventional and powder metal tool steels and high speed steels. SBSM services many industrial and retail sectors including aerospace, automotive, energy, tool and die, stainless steel distribution and high quality knife products. SBSM maintains supplier relationships with mills all over the world these mills have been identified as SBSM suppliers for their ability to produce high quality products competitively and meet delivery requirements. The ability to manage these supplier relationships and source a wide range of products makes SBSM unique in this market.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Troy, MI, for a Customer Service Representative. Responsibilities include managing customer inquiries, providing high-quality support, ensuring customer satisfaction, addressing concerns, and maintaining positive customer experiences. The role involves proactive communication with customers and coordination with internal teams to meet service and product delivery expectations.
Qualifications
Proficiency in Customer Service, Customer Support, and ensuring Customer Satisfaction
Skills in building and maintaining strong Customer Relationships and delivering exceptional Customer Experiences
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to manage and resolve customer concerns efficiently and professionally
Strong math skills are required. (Candidates selected for in person interviews will be required to complete a brief math assessment.)
Proficiency in 10 - Key Data Entry
Previous experience in customer service or a related role is a plus
Familiarity with industrial or metals-related sectors is advantageous but not required
High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in a relevant field is a plus
Salary: $40,000–$43,000 per year + commission opportunity
Medical, dental, and vision insurance - Eligible current month plus 60 days.
401(k) with company match (eligible the 1st of the month following start date, with no vesting period)
Employer-paid group life insurance (up to 1x annual salary) - immediately upon hire
Optional voluntary life, short-term and long-term disability coverage immediately upon hire
