The Role Sunflower Communities is seeking a seasoned
Regional Administrator (LALD)
to provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple assisted living and memory care campuses. This is a hands‑on regional role designed for a proven leader who can drive consistency, elevate standards, and build strong, accountable leadership teams. You will play a critical role in shaping organizational culture, ensuring regulatory excellence, and supporting growth initiatives, including the successful launch and stabilization of our Sartell community.
Regional Leadership Scope
Build, implement, and oversee comprehensive training and education programs to ensure continuous staff development and regulatory readiness.
Set the tone for culture and accountability by mentoring Executive Directors and department leaders across all sites.
Lead staffing strategy and stabilization efforts, including hiring, onboarding, and leadership development during new building openings.
Own regulatory compliance and survey readiness, including internal audits, plans of correction, and ongoing risk mitigation.
Ensure consistent, resident‑centered care delivery with a strong focus on memory care best practices and dementia‑capable programming.
Partner with on‑site leadership to drive occupancy growth through improved move‑in readiness, family communication, and community reputation.
Provide financial oversight by managing budgets, labor performance, overtime, agency usage, and cost‑control initiatives.
Maintain alignment with Minnesota Assisted Living Licensure requirements, BELTSS standards, and MDH expectations across all locations.
Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
Conduct routine site visits and operational reviews, using KPIs and dashboards to guide decision‑making.
Support and oversee pre‑opening milestones and operational readiness for Sartell and future communities.
Review incidents, trends, grievances, and satisfaction data to proactively address risk and improve outcomes.
Coach leadership teams on assessments, service plans, documentation, and admission workflows to ensure timely, compliant move‑ins.
Collaborate with sales, marketing, and clinical partners to remove barriers to growth while maintaining quality standards.
What Success Looks Like in the First 12 Months
Strong MDH survey results with reduced deficiencies and improved compliance consistency.
Occupancy growth across all communities with faster lead‑to‑move‑in timelines.
Labor performance within budget, reduced reliance on agency staff, and improved retention.
Elevated memory care services with consistent programming and staff competency.
Engaged leadership teams aligned with Sunflower Communities’ mission and expectations.
Required Qualifications
Active Minnesota Licensed Assisted Living Director (LALD) in good standing.
Demonstrated multi‑site leadership experience within assisted living and memory care.
Proven success in survey readiness, occupancy growth, financial oversight, and team development.
Strong working knowledge of Minnesota assisted living regulations and MDH survey processes.
Reliable transportation with the ability to travel regularly between Waconia, Elmore, and Sartell.
Willingness to participate in scheduled weekend, on‑call, and limited holiday coverage.
Preferred Experience
Leadership experience with new‑build openings or turnaround environments.
Formal dementia training or a strong track record of advancing memory care programming.
