Blauch Brothers is seeking a
Sheet Metal Estimator
to develop accurate pricing estimates for HVAC sheet metal work on construction projects. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Mechanical Piping and Plumbing Estimators to deliver complete project pricing for our construction team.
You’ll work cross‑functionally with our Service Department, Operations team, General Contractors, engineers, designers, vendors, and project owners. This position plays a key role in maintaining a strong pipeline of profitable construction work.
This is a
non‑supervisory, safety‑sensitive position
reporting to the Pre‑Construction Manager.
Work Schedule
Monday–Friday
8 to 9.5 hours per day
Average 43–45 hours per week
Schedule may vary based on project demands and customer needs
Key Responsibilities Estimating & Pricing
Prepare and submit estimates by required deadlines
Develop accurate project estimates from drawings and specifications
Review and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
Assist with pricing change orders as needed
Incorporate safety requirements into project pricing
Support estimating efforts for Sheet Metal, Small Projects, and Service work
Customer & Project Management
Meet with customers to understand needs and present estimates
Follow up on bids via phone, email, and text
Participate in site visits to improve estimating accuracy
Attend project turnover meetings with Operations and Project Teams
Conduct annual customer evaluations to ensure alignment with ideal customer profile
Collaboration & Communication
Partner with Construction and Service teams to identify new opportunities
Coordinate with Small Projects team to support account needs
Collaborate with Service Department to generate additional revenue opportunities
Work with Pre‑Construction Manager to evaluate project pursuits
Partner with Project Managers to improve processes and track customer satisfaction
Meetings & Professional Development
Attend estimating meetings, project updates, and bid day activities
Participate in networking and promotional events
Attend owner trainings and industry‑related events
Engage in Unified Group and peer group training opportunities
Participate in annual performance reviews
Process Improvement
Identify and implement improvements to estimating workflows
Recommend cost‑effective procedures and best practices
Stay current on industry trends and innovations
Collaborate with the Estimating Team on business goals and strategic initiatives

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook) and estimating software
Ability to navigate company file systems and web‑based tools
Physical Requirements
Ability to work in an office environment with extended periods of sitting
Occasional bending, crouching, kneeling, and reaching
Strong visual acuity for reading drawings and documents
Ability to communicate clearly in person and via phone
Regular field visits with exposure to outdoor conditions
