Technical Representative

to serve as the critical link between our engineering teams and our global operators. This isn’t just a maintenance role; it’s a strategic liaison position where your technical authority ensures the airworthiness and operational success of government and commercial fleets. If you possess a FAA A&P license, a deep technical “detective” mindset for troubleshooting, and the desire to represent a world leader in aviation, we want to hear from you.

Led by our Senior Manager of Technical Support, our team serves as the ultimate ‘Level 3’ resource for pilots and mechanics worldwide. We are a high‑autonomy group that thrives on solving the ‘unsolvable’ problems. You’ll be working alongside Senior Tech Reps who value mentorship, precise documentation, and the kind of technical integrity that keeps aircraft safe and missions on track.

Your Challenges Technical Support Communications (65%)

Communicate with customers by phone, email or technical database to help with requests for assistance with questions on assigned products, Light helicopters, Medium Twins or Heavy Helicopters.

Help customers troubleshoot problems, assist with information, documentation, repair requests and technical requests.

Provide support to AHI Technical Representatives, Service Centers and helicopter operators and interface with OEM involving product improvement, and the development and maintenance of optional equipment.

Work with other Regional Tech Reps learning support techniques by means of advice, documentation, and mentorship and seeking direction for difficult support topics.

Organize inspection packages; ensure proper and accurate record of inspections and maintenance carried out on Gov. Aircraft.

Manage and oversee work on Gov. contracts for maintenance including any subcontractors working with AHI.

Make log book entries, and when required by contract return aircraft to service.

Ensure all AHI tools and other equipment, parts, and assets are stored, cared for and all calibration is up to date.

Report status of aircraft in their region.

Visit all sites in their region as required.

Maintenance, Component, and Service Recommendations (25%)

Review part replacements, cannibalizations for technical merit, alternative solutions, and make recommendations to ensure cost effective and technically sound actions for AHI and customers.

Assist in accumulation and analysis of technical data pertaining to aircraft service.

Participate in identifying trends in service problems and develop procedures/instruction to alleviate problems.

Make recommendations for technical change to provide improvement in operations, safety and operating cost.

Participate in corrective action to resolve technical problems and in the accumulation and analysis of maintainability and reliability data.

Issue reports in problem areas to AHI management and parent companies.

Support accident investigation activities (i.e., cause, failure, future prevention and operational safety).

Provide technical support to training activities and warranty claims review.

Perform standby duty after hours, weekends and holidays to respond to customer needs.

Marketing/Sales and Company Sponsored Events (10%)

Support marketing activities such as demonstrations, trade‑shows, presentations and seminars.

Provide technical presentations on product improvements at trade shows and seminars.

Your Boarding Pass

Possess an Associates in aircraft engineering, business administration, or related field and/or equivalent work experience.

Possess a current FAA A&P License (AMT).

Minimum 5 years experience on the model of aircraft to be supported (BK117 C2/D3, EC145, H145, UH72A).

OR 10 years of rotary wing experience and successful completion of US Army internship program working on the LUH program.

Education above the minimum required can be considered as additional experience (i.e., bachelor’s aviation/engineering/aeronautics would be considered two additional years, master’s aviation/engineering/aeronautics would be considered four additional years, etc.).

Travel Required

50%+ Domestic and International.

Citizenship

Must be a US Person under ITAR definition (a U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license).

Clearance

Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Common Access Card (CAC).

Physical Requirements

Onsite or remote: 5% to 8% onsite – remainder of the time will be in a home office or traveling.

Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, read documents, reports and engineering drawings. Daily requirement for driving and troubleshooting.

Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms. Daily requirement.

Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications. Daily.

Equipment Operation: able to operate personal computer, telephone, copies, fax machine, and related office equipment. Able to operate rental vehicles such as small trucks, vans and cars while traveling or assisting with trade shows and events.

Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 50lbs/23kgs. Daily.

Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 50lbs/22kgs. Daily.

Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture and some equipment and tools not more than daily.

Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, work on the computer daily. May also be required to stand for extended periods of time at trade shows or customer locations.

Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving, kneel or crawl under and around helicopters. Must be able to climb ladders and work stands to examine parts on the helicopter or perform tests. Daily.

Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor or at trade shows and demonstrations. May be required to stand for long amounts of time at a customer location daily. Tradeshows can last 3 days, potentially 10+ days at a site.

Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice, either by air travel or driving, must be able to navigate and follow directions to find a customer location daily.

Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces and hangar or flight line areas multiple times a day.

Personal Protective Equipment required: Safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators/masks, and/or protective gloves as required by site and/or customer site.

Administrative position only PPE required: Steel‑toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits, appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.

Salary range: Based on the required profile: $86,470-$126,000 per year, depending on the candidate’s experience. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
