Remote Customer Advocate

Disabled Veteran Solutions, Columbus, OH, United States

Remote Customer Advocate - Full-Time At Disabled Veteran Solutions (DVS), we don't hire for short‑term roles – we build careers. As a nationally recognized, veteran‑owned and run organization, our work demands precision, accountability, and genuine care for the people we serve.

What You'll Do You’ll handle 50–70 daily interactions, supporting members with healthcare coordination, medications, appointments, and benefits. Each conversation is different, and while systems and processes guide the work, real success comes from your ability to think beyond them.

You’ll be expected to move confidently between multiple systems in real time, document accurately while speaking with members, and maintain a high level of professionalism in every interaction. This is a fast‑paced environment where both empathy and precision matter.

This Role Is Not for Everyone This is not an entry‑level computer role, and it's not a “read‑the‑script” type of job.

You need to be comfortable navigating multiple browser windows while actively engaging in conversation, documenting in real time without losing accuracy, and troubleshooting basic issues independently. You’ll also be using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams consistently throughout your day. Note that a tech assessment is required prior to our interview and we will assess your technical proficiency in these areas during the hiring process.

Schedule & Training

Training (First 8 Weeks): 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM EST

Post‑Training Schedule: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM EST

Start Date: May 11, 2026

Training is paid and highly structured, with 100% attendance required. This role is designed for individuals seeking long‑term employment – not temporary or transitional work.

What You Bring You’re someone who takes ownership, values consistency, and doesn’t cut corners. You’re just as comfortable handling complex customer concerns as you are navigating multiple systems at once.

Required

High school diploma (Associate degree or higher preferred)

Prior customer service experience handling complex or sensitive issues, preferably remote client service

Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, as well as navigating websites

Ability to multitask across systems while maintaining accuracy

Excellent attention to detail and organization

Clear, professional communication – written and verbal

Helpful experience includes high‑volume call environments, healthcare or insurance exposure, or roles where you’ve had to advocate for or guide others through complex situations.

What You’ll Get We invest in people who are committed to growing with us. That means competitive pay, bonus opportunities, a comprehensive benefits package, and clearly defined advancement paths for high performers.

Who Thrives Here People who succeed at DVS are dependable, detail‑oriented, and take pride in doing meaningful work the right way. They don’t look for shortcuts – they look for solutions.
