R-100436**Job Description Summary**The Business Development Representative 2 role is responsible for collaborating with the Business Development and Estimating teams to assist in the successful planning and facilitation of a project from sale to kick off as well as interface with internal and external customers throughout the life cycle of a project.**Job Description:**Role and Responsibilities:* Review project proposals to determine Baer’s project scope and responsibilities.* Secure projects while recognizing commitment to quality workmanship, positive industry image and customer satisfaction.* Execute the estimating plan/strategy which includes providing accurate estimates of labor, materials, and administrative costs for assigned projects.* Interface with Designers, Project Managers, and others to resolve issues throughout the project.* Determine the customer’s needs and interpret their definition of a successful project.* Prepare, process, and maintain all files, correspondence, schedules, reports, and quotations necessary to perform the responsibilities of the contract.* Participate and/or facilitate project planning and follow up meetings throughout the project life cycle.* Participate & present in committee and department meetings.* Develop relationships with vendors* Facilitate the estimating kickoff meetings.* Verify the estimator check list has been completed.* Participate in pre-bid bid and final bid reviews with the Estimating team.* Attend on and off-site customer/client meetings and events.* Develop and maintain customer relationships to secure future business by attending on and off-site meetings and events.* Collaborate with Marketing, Business Development and Estimating teams to prepare project proposals.* Maintain and develop new customer relationships to secure future business in the commercial and industrial markets.* Participate in the interview process and responds to customer questions.Qualifications and Education Requirements:* High school diploma or equivalent.* Associates degree in electrical construction, construction management, electrical engineering, or similar discipline preferred.* 5+ years of experience working in the electrical construction industry.* 3+ years of experience working as a Salesperson and/or Project Manager in the electrical construction industry.* Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, sales tactics, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods and the coordination of manpower and resources.* Strong computerized estimating skills using Enterprise or similar software.* Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe/Bluebeam.* Experience with conceptual estimating, low voltage systems estimating, design/build estimating.* Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish the goals.* Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.* Effective problem solving and time management skills.* Ability to multi-task and prioritize to manage workload and meet deadlines.Key Skills and Competencies:* Able to work cooperatively within diverse teams, both internally and externally, to achieve group and organizational goals.* Maintains and promotes individual and organization integrity and values in conduct of all activities.* Organizes large amounts of information by creating and maintaining well organized systems and is able to utilize the data to exercise sound reasoning to analyze issues, make decisions, and solve problems.* Is proactive and self-starting by seizing opportunities and originating action to achieve goals.* Demonstrates a broad repertoire of ways to think about, understand and creatively handle complex ideas, problems and situations.* Takes responsibility for all work activities, follows through on commitments; implements decisions that have been agreed upon, and maintains confidentiality with sensitive information.* Maintains high performance and composure under pressure, opposition or criticism.* Proactively seeks and finds ways to provide the highest standards of service.* Views events and possibilities from multiple perspectives. The individual also has public speaking skills, is able to express ideas to others, and can write/edit memos, letters, and complex technical reports clearly and effectively.Physical Requirements:* This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines.* Employees are frequently required to sit, and occasionally required to kneel, reach, stoop, crouch or crawl.* This position requires the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary.* This position may occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.**Pay Range:**Individual compensation is determined by skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
