
Justice Court Specialist II- Flagstaff Justice Court (0426)

Under supervision performs work of moderate difficulty in recording court proceedings, processing and distributing court documents; performs related duties as assigned.

Attends, prepares documents and summarizes decisions reached in court hearings
Processes and distributes judicial orders and legal documents at the direction of the Judge
Updates Court and Judge's calendars based on court orders
Schedules court hearings and trials
Processes case information into software system
Completes minute entry from court hearings and trial proceedings
Certifies documents
Coordinates deliberation rooms for Jury Trials
Prepares and transfers bind over felony cases to Superior Court
Assists in training staff
Three years of progressively responsible clerical work: OR
Associate's degree in a related field and one year of progressively responsible clerical work experience in a Justice Court environment; OR
Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Considerable knowledge of:
Use of modern office practices, procedures and equipment
Justice Court terms and definitions
Business English and spelling
Working knowledge of:
Arizona statutes and Rules of Procedure
Court and legal terminology and procedures
Computer applications
Ability to:
Make decisions in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures
Maintain confidentiality
Perform complex paperwork processing and calendaring tasks with accuracy in courtroom environment
Meet deadlines
Accurately maintain records and prepare reports
Work safely and support the culture of workplace safety
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public
Follow written and verbal instructions
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
