Position Details Position: Multimedia Coordinator

Status: Full Time

Hours: Mon – Fri 8:30 am to 5:00 pm (hours may vary)

Reports to: Community Engagement Director

Pay Range: $67,580.92 to $96,188.72

The Multimedia Coordinator performs a variety of functions, including the production of content for the Village’s marketing plan, website, social media outlets and government access cable channel. They also assist with the Village’s communication efforts, maintain the Village’s websites and operator the Village’s drone.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

Develop, shoot, and edit high-quality video content for Village cable television channel, social media outlets, podcasts, and to support the Village’s marketing plan.

Capture and edit professional photos to support marketing and communications efforts.

Transport, set up, and operate cameras, lighting, microphones, and other production equipment for studio and/or field projects, including multi-camera production setups.

Provide video coverage of Village meetings and events, and other taxing body meetings and events as requested, including evening and weekend coverage.

Schedule programming for playback on cable television, including maintaining an ongoing bulletin board highlighting upcoming community events.

Maintain an organized library of video and photo assets for Village use.

Research current trends in video production and digital content to enhance engagement.

Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to assist in covering events and creating content.

Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on equipment.

Maintain an FAA Part 107 license for drone operation. Perform any flights as requested by departments.

Coordinate the Village’s websites by supporting departments with updates as needed and ensuring all posted content is accurate and accessible.

Perform ongoing reviews of website for accuracy, omissions, broken links, accessibility compliance, and overall user experience, and coordinate any necessary technical support with website vendor as needed.

Creates and updates online forms via automation software as requested by departments.

Assist in development of department budget.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Knowledge of Final Cut Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Mac OS, and/or experience with similar programs. Knowledge of website content management systems (experience with CivicPlus is favorable). Proven experience in video and audio communications, and the ability to operate and troubleshoot A/V equipment. Interpersonal skills to effectively train and manage volunteers and communicate with internal and external stakeholders. A self-starter with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability to develop new ideas and present ideas in a clear, logical, and creative manner.

Desired Education and/or Work Experience Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Production, Communications, Journalism, or related field and a minimum of two years’ experience. Equivalent experience/education will be considered. Possession of a valid Illinois Driver’s License.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements In addition to working in a normal office-type environment, time is spent outside exposed to temperature extremes, dirt, noise, etc. The remaining time is spent in the studio. Schedule will vary due to variable hours of work required due to the taping of events, which occur often in the evenings or on weekends. Occasionally must lift and carry objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds; standing or sitting for long periods of time.
