Regional Business Manager – Oncology (East Region)
Location:
East Coast (major metro areas preferred; remote within region – Must be located near a major airport)
Compensation:
Base salary in the $225k range plus car allowance, plus bonus, plus equity
Scientific Search has partnered with a commercial-stage rare disease company with an improved drug in the oncology space and focused on advancing targeted therapies for rare diseases and difficult-to-treat cancers.
Our client is seeking a
Regional Business Manager (RBM)
to drive commercial success across the East Region, leading strategic sales execution and building strong relationships with key oncology stakeholders across academic and community settings.
This is a highly visible field-based role ideal for a
results-driven oncology sales leader
who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and enjoys working at the intersection of clinical science, customer engagement, and market access.

Responsibilities
Drive regional sales performance by effectively positioning an oncology therapy within appropriate patient populations
Develop and execute strategic territory business plans to maximize performance and market penetration
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders including medical oncologists, advanced practitioners, pharmacists, and institutional decision-makers
Navigate complex academic and community oncology accounts to support product adoption and access
Deliver compelling, compliant product and disease state education aligned with approved labeling
Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Market Access, Medical Affairs, and other internal teams to ensure aligned customer engagement
Analyze market dynamics, customer insights, and competitive landscape to inform regional strategy
Engage with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and represent the organization at regional and national oncology meetings
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA or scientific) preferred
10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
2+ years of oncology and/or rare disease commercial experience
Strong understanding of the oncology treatment landscape, including academic and community care settings
Proven track record of success in pharmaceutical sales or customer-facing healthcare roles
Experience engaging with key opinion leaders and complex healthcare systems
Ability to communicate complex clinical and scientific information effectively to diverse audiences
Strong business planning, execution, and account management skills
Willingness to travel extensively within the region
Preferred Experience
Experience in rare oncology indications (e.g., sarcoma, gynecologic oncology)
Background working with academic institutions, NCI-designated centers, and integrated delivery networks
Experience navigating access and reimbursement dynamics in oncology
