Business Development Representative

The Role As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you will play a critical role on our sales team by managing inbound inquiries, while executing high-volume outbound prospecting efforts. This role is ideal for someone with proven BDR or inside sales experience who is motivated to build, refine, and grow within the BDR function long-term.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a high-activity environment, enjoys the fundamentals of pipeline generation, and takes pride in consistently creating qualified opportunities. Salary / Job Environment $50,000 – $65,000 USD, plus additional variable compensation. This is a full-time hybrid position, with a minimum two days per week in office. Initial training will be conducted in-office.

Responsibilities

Execute 50+ outbound cold calls daily to generate new business opportunities across expanding markets

Manage both inbound and outbound lead flows, qualifying prospects and identifying high-quality opportunities

Partner closely with Account Executives across North America to schedule meetings and advance deals

Re-engage existing prospects within the Cova database to drive pipeline growth

Consistently nurture leads through structured follow-up and targeted outreach campaigns

Identify and elevate high-value opportunities to Territory and Strategic Account teams

Act as a knowledgeable and professional ambassador of Cova and its product offerings

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities in Salesforce CRM

Meet and exceed activity and pipeline generation targets on a consistent basis

What We’re Looking For

1-2+ years of dedicated BDR, or high-volume outbound sales experience (required)

Demonstrated success and commitment to growing within a BDR or pipeline generation role

Strong cold calling skills with the ability to confidently engage prospects throughout the day

Excellent verbal communication and relationship-building abilities

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment with high activity expectations

Experience using CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and familiarity with business software tools

Highly organized with strong multitasking and follow-up skills

Ability to adapt messaging across diverse customer segments

Nice to Have

Previous experience or working knowledge of the cannabis industry, cannabis retail, or related technologies

Experience in SaaS or technology sales environments
