Now, we’re entering a new phase of growth and are looking for a Marketing & Communications specialist to join our growing Marketing team. This position is ideal for a communications generalist eager to support various facets of the Marketing team, including public relations, social media and event planning support. A large portion of this role’s responsibilities will pertain to PDW’s social media strategy and execution.

While this role will report to the Manager of Communications, it will provide cross-functional support for the broader Marketing team.

What You’ll Do

Social media community management (direct message, post monitoring, and responses)

Monthly metric collection and reporting

Monitoring social listening capability for industry trends and sentiments

Support team developing content for social platforms as needed

Support maintenance of media directory and collection of PDW press coverage

Draft press releases and website content as needed

Support creation of quarterly customer newsletter

Manage sponsorships and ad placements for events

Event planning support and on-site staffing as needed

Monitoring dashboards and looking for optimization opportunities

Building out landing pages, emails, segmentation and automation in Salesforce

Monitoring and reporting on digital metrics

Coordinating and executing paid media efforts

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.

2-4 years of marketing & communications experience.

Knowledge of social media marketing and a strong understanding of managing major social media platforms

Strong written and verbal communication skills, experience and aptitude in adopting and executing a brand voice in social

Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously

Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and collaborating across departments

Ability to travel up to 20% of the time as needed for event and marketing support

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance or higher, as required

Preferred

Working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud and Figma

Experience in defense technology, drone industry, or related fields

Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about regularly throughout the day and lift/carry up to 25 pounds. Must have manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. Must be physically capable of walking between office and production areas and attending events or meetings off-site as needed.

Work Environment This role is based in Huntsville, AL and requires on-site presence. We are currently unable to provide relocation support, so local candidates are highly preferred. This position operates primarily in a professional office environment with occasional work in a manufacturing setting. It requires the use of standard office equipment and systems. This role involves cross-departmental collaboration and both independent and team-based responsibilities. Standard work hours for this position are 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional overtime or off-hour work as business needs arise.
