The Iron County School District isseeking a Full Time Director of Behavior Programs beginning July 1st 2026. The Director of Behavior Programs is u nder the direction of the Executive Director of Elementary Programs, The Director of Behavior Programs provides direction, assistance, training, and support in the area of positive behavior supports, intensive behavioral interventions, and applied behavior analysis, to students with autism and significant/severe behaviors and disabilities. The Director oversees state At-Risk funds, directs all PBIS programs, Behavior programs, oversees and evaluates district BCBA's and is a member of the district Title IX team, handling Elementary Student Title IX investigations. The director also oversees all behavior interventions and plans (BIPs) as specified in an Individualized Education Program (IEP).

Participates on District Special Education Behavior Team, District Utah Assistive Technology Team, and Emergency Safety Interventions Committee (guides: problem-solving, development of positive behavior supports, and the alternative behavioral placements of students).

Oversees special classes (elementary and secondary) in ICSD that provides targeted behavior and sensory services for students, including those on an IEP.

Facilitates and/or provides training to certified and classified behavior support staff on Applied Behavior Analysis, Data Collection of Behavior Interventions, and in meeting the educational needs of students, including those with autism.

Works in collaboration with school personnel on the development and implementation of specially designed instruction for students who require services in the area of applied behavior analysis.

As assigned, attends state and district meetings and participates on various district-level collaborative teams.

Ensures compliance to local, state and federal policies, procedures and laws related to the prevention of and response to student behavior issues.

In cooperation with the ICSD Human Resources Department, directs Behavior Support personnel functions (e.g. recruitment, hiring, evaluation, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining adequate highly qualified staffing and ensuring that the educational and legal objectives of Behavior programs are accomplished.

Assists building administrators with evaluation and discipline of Behavior support personnel.

In cooperation with the ICSD Business Department, develops annual budget forecasts for State At-risk funding, manages and accounts for all At-risk funds for the purpose of ensuring that funds and resources are utilized in compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements.

Compiles data from and collaborates with a wide variety of internal and external groups (e.g. district leadership, auditors, community organizations, regulatory agencies, etc.) for the purpose of identifying and/or analyzing relevant issues, recommending and/or implementing action plans, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and monitoring program components.

Serves as District liaison to other agencies within the local area (e.g. Utah State Board of Education, etc.) for the purpose of maximizing and coordination of behavior services to students.

Oversees the preparation of documentation (e.g. grants, contracts, requisitions, District/State/Federal reports, correspondence, etc.) for the purpose of providing written support and/or conveying information.

Develops an atmosphere of respect, interest, and enthusiasm within the PBIS and Behavior Programs for the purpose of maximizing behavior support services to students.

Visits schools, attends meetings, and coordinates with principals and district staff regularly for the purposes of training personnel, resolving issues, coordinating services, and ensuring program alignment and consistency.

Presents information on a wide variety of PBIS and Behavior topics for the purpose of conveying information, gaining feedback and/or directing ICSD behavior services.

Develops a wide variety of documents and presentation materials, independently and/or through delegation to other personnel (e.g. plans, proposals, policies, budgets, grant opportunities, procedures, forms, etc.) for the purpose of implementing and maintaining services and programs.

Coordinates with and responds to USBE on matters of compliance, requests, and/or state directives.

Researches and implements a wide variety of topics related to behavior supports for the purpose of ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and established guidelines; securing information for planning; and/or responding to requests.

Monitors and oversees district-wide and school site-based behavior support programs and projects (e.g. curriculum development, delivery alternatives, discipline, etc.) for the purpose of carrying out and achieving District objectives.

Participates as a member or facilitator in meetings, workshops, and seminars that frequently involve a range of issues related to behavior supports for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.

Oversees and coordinates investigations, responses and resolutions to Title IX complaints relating to and involving students, to include supervision of investigators and selection and training

Oversees, coordinates and ensures investigations of reports and complaints of sexual misconduct are adequate, reliable, timely, confidential and impartial; reviews proposed sanctions for sexual misconduct before they are imposed to ensure that they are reasonably calculated to stop the sexual misconduct and prevent its recurrence.

Collaborates with Director of Human Resources in identifying systemic problems relating to complaints and determines whether resources should be adopted in response, including review and revision of Sexual Harassment policies, increased monitoring, supervision or security at locations where sexual misconduct is reported to occur, and increased education and prevention efforts to targeted populations.

Collaborates with leadership to disseminate information, redesign processes, and support the District's investigative processes; collaborates and coordinates with compliance partners within the department and across the institution to support the District's overlapping compliance needs and responsibilities.

Communicates with local law enforcement and government agencies to ensure reports are handled appropriately and in a timely manner; coordinates with local victim advocacy organizations and service providers.

Collaborates with the Director of Human Resources to ensure ongoing compliance with Title IX by collecting and analyzing data, writing comprehensive reports and maintaining records of investigations.
