Position Summary The Mechanical Builder will support the assembly, installation, and maintenance of custom automated machinery for Addtronics’ customers. This role is ideal for someone early in their mechanical career who is eager to learn, can follow detailed instructions, and wants to develop hands‑on machine‑building skills in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the mechanical assembly of custom automation equipment under the direction of senior builders and engineers.

Follow written and verbal instructions, work instructions, and build plans to complete assigned tasks safely and accurately.

Use measuring tools and basic hand and power tools to fit, align, and assemble machine components.

Read and interpret basic blueprints and mechanical drawings to understand part locations, dimensions, and assembly sequences.

Support machine testing, debug, and adjustments as directed to ensure equipment operates to specification.

Assist with on‑site installation and commissioning of equipment at customer facilities, including mechanical assembly, adjustments, and basic troubleshooting.

Travel as needed with senior builders or technicians for installs and service (typically regional and planned in advance).

Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow all safety procedures and company policies.

Communicate clearly with team members about progress, issues, and any questions regarding build instructions.

Qualifications

Familiarity with measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, or micrometers, and comfort using basic hand and power tools.

Ability to read and understand basic mechanical blueprints, drawings, and part prints (with willingness to ask questions and learn more advanced prints over time).

Strong ability to follow instructions, both written and verbal, with attention to detail and quality.

Demonstrated willingness to learn mechanical and machine‑building skills, including assembly techniques, alignment, and basic troubleshooting.

Comfort working in a shop environment and around industrial equipment.

Ability to travel occasionally to customer sites for equipment installation and support.

Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive, team‑oriented attitude.
