Sales Associate Part-Time

Position Summary:

The Sales Associate will assist in the receiving, stocking, pricing of all merchandise and help maintain a clean and orderly merchandise presentation and overall store cleanliness. Sales Associates are responsible for providing exceptional customer service and offer solutions to any customer needs.

Major Responsibilities:

Provide a positive representation of Gerrity's Ace Hardware

Proactively greet and assist customers in solving problems

Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management

Assist customers throughout the store with personal, customized service based on the premise of amazing every customer, every time

Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the store

Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the sales floor, stock room and outdoor merchandise area

Assist with merchandise resets through the store

Assist with maintaining back stock levels

Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of store layout and location of products

Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements

Perform all other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

Minimum of 1-2 years experience in sales/retail preferred

High School or GED equivalent

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills

Ability and willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business

Physical Requirements:

Employee must regularly move and/or lift 50lbs

Ability to read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English language with sufficient proficiency in order to read and understand

While performing the duties, the employee is regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision with the ability to adjust focus
