Our client is a specialized engineering and manufacturing organization supporting aerospace, defense, and advanced industrial markets with highly engineered products and solutions. Operating in a quality-driven and technically complex environment, the organization focuses on product innovation, customer service excellence, and long-term market growth. Due to continued expansion, our client is seeking a commercially driven Technical Sales professional to support business growth and customer engagement.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Connecticut, reporting to sales leadership.
Role Overview
The Technical Sales role is responsible for generating new business opportunities, expanding existing customer relationships, and driving product sales growth within specialized technical markets. This position combines consultative selling, market analysis, and technical engagement to support customers with complex product applications.
Working closely with internal teams including engineering, contracts, and operations, the Technical Sales professional will play a key role in identifying opportunities, developing sales strategies, and ensuring successful execution of the sales process from prospecting through order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities
The Technical Sales professional will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Develop and execute account and market strategies to drive product sales, revenue growth, and profitability targets
- Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities while expanding revenue within existing customer accounts
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand technical requirements, applications, and future needs
- Prepare and deliver technical and commercial presentations, proposals, and quotations aligned with customer specifications
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to inform sales strategies and product positioning
- Act as a technical resource throughout the sales process, translating customer requirements into appropriate product solutions
- Manage sales operations including quotations, order entry, CRM updates, forecasting, and order tracking through ERP systems
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, contracts, and internal sales teams to ensure successful order execution and customer satisfaction

- Experience working with engineered products or technical solutions
- Proficiency with CRM and ERP systems for sales management and order processing
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to translate technical product features into customer value
- Experience within aerospace, defense, lighting, or similar technical industries advantageous
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related technical discipline preferred
- Alternatively, 5+ years of relevant experience in technical sales within a similar market environment
- U.S. Citizenship required due to ITAR regulations
