- Full-time onsite employment. 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
- No Holidays or Weekends Required
Duties and Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance carriers (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers)
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Post contractual adjustments and reconcile accounts
- Follow up on denied or unpaid claims and resolve billing issues
- Work closely with coding staff to ensure accurate claim submission
- Communicate professionally with patients regarding billing questions and payment arrangements
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all federal and state billing regulations
Education/Certifications
- High School graduate or GED required
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred
Experience
- Previous medical billing experience is preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance billing
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and billing software systems
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
