User Experience Designer

Jack, New York, NY, United States

Jack is building the infrastructure layer for modern hiring. On one side, we help job seekers land interviews by automatically applying to relevant roles using AI-tailored resumes and cover letters. On the other, through Hire With Jack, we help hiring teams cut through the noise by surfacing high-signal candidates already in their pipeline. Hiring today is broken. Job seekers apply to hundreds of roles and hear nothing back. Hiring teams review hundreds of resumes and still can’t find the right fit. We fix that. Jack sits directly in the hiring workflow, using real outcome data (applications → interviews → success) to match candidates based on signal, not keywords. Our mission is simple: Make hiring more human by removing the parts that shouldn’t require humans. We’re looking for a UX Design Intern to help shape the experience across both sides of our platform, from job seekers automating their search to hiring teams identifying top candidates faster. This is not a “make pretty screens” role. You’ll design flows that reduce friction, eliminate noise, and rethink how hiring should actually work. You’ll work closely with product, engineering, and growth to turn messy, real-world problems into clean, intuitive experiences that people actually want to use. Responsibilities Design end-to-end user experiences across the Jack platform (job seeker + hiring team sides) Create wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity designs for new features Improve onboarding, application tracking, and hiring workflows Collaborate with product and engineering to bring designs to life Conduct lightweight user research and usability testing Iterate quickly based on feedback, data, and real user behavior Contribute to design systems and UI consistency across the product Qualifications Strong portfolio showcasing UX thinking (not just visuals) Ability to think in systems, flows, and user journeys Comfortable designing for complex products (multi-step workflows, dashboards, etc.) Strong problem-solving mindset and attention to detail Experience with tools like Figma (or similar) Bonus: Interest in startups, AI, or the future of work Real ownership over product features used by thousands of users Hands-on experience designing for both B2C and B2B workflows Exposure to startup speed, product decisions, and iteration cycles Direct collaboration with founders and product team A portfolio of impactful, real-world UX work Opportunity to transition into a full-time role #J-18808-Ljbffr
