Role Description This is a full‑time, on‑site position available in three U.S. locations: East Brunswick, Cortland, and Jackson. The R&D Food Director will lead research and development activities focused on spice blends, seasonings, rubs, marinades, and dry mixes. The role requires hands‑on experience in the spice industry, strong technical expertise, and the ability to translate concepts into scalable, commercially viable products.
Key Responsibilities Develop and optimize spice blends, seasonings, rubs, marinades, and dry mixes Conduct bench‑top trials, sensory evaluations, and product testing Analyze raw materials, flavor profiles, ingredient functionality, and particle size Collaborate with production teams to scale formulations from lab to manufacturing Stay current with global spice trends, flavor technologies, and ingredient innovations Prepare technical documentation, specifications, and R&D reports Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant laboratory environment
Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of R&D experience in the food, spice, or seasoning industry Proven hands‑on experience specifically within the spice or seasoning sector Background in R&D within food manufacturing environments Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and interpretation Hands‑on experience with formulation, sensory evaluation, and ingredient functionality Excellent problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail Ability to work independently and collaboratively Strong written and verbal communication skills Familiarity with laboratory equipment and testing procedures
