Director of Accounting

THE ROLE This strategic position oversees general ledger, cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, and budgeting for multiple facilities. Partner with operations and commercial teams to drive financial performance and provide critical business insights.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Direct monthly/quarterly/annual close processes and financial reporting Manage cost accounting, inventory valuation, and production margin analysis Lead budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis Ensure GAAP compliance and coordinate external audits Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets Partner with operations on production costs and pricing strategies Lead and develop accounting team of professionals Drive process improvements and system enhancements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 7-10 years progressive accounting experience 3-5 years management/supervisory experience Process industry or distribution background required Strong cost accounting and inventory management expertise Expert knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) Advanced Excel skills (financial modeling, pivot tables)

PREFERRED CPA or CMA certification Experience in process or distribution industries Capital project accounting experience Multi-site operations experience
