Position: Sales Tax Analyst Duration: 12+ months with possible Extension Location: Memphis, TN 38103 Pay rate: $30.00-35.00/hr
Job Summary: Ensures compliance with sales/use tax laws through the preparation and review of state and local sales/use tax returns, preparation of new license applications, and the preparation and tracking of renewals and other returns required by state and local jurisdictions. Key Performance Indicators Meeting all compliance requirements and deadlines Principal Duties and Responsibilities Prepares sales/use, business license, and other indirect tax returns. Tracks returns and payments to ensure due dates are met by filing and paying timely. Prepares account reconciliations and payment requests. Gathers necessary documentation from internal resources to complete applications and returns. Assists with indirect tax audits. Performs tax research including licensing requirements, tax rates, etc.
Required Experience: Bachelor's Degree required. 2 years experience in sales and use taxes or business licenses preferred. Required Leadership Traits and Characteristics Strong interpersonal and communication skills Time management and organizational skills Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize Ability to work effectively with a team as well as independently
