UI/UX Design Intern – Discovery Features The UI/UX Design Intern on the Discovery Features team creates easy and delightful experiences for users interacting with Ansys products and services. The UI/UX Design Intern assesses the functional and content requirements of a product, implements the established design from the User Experience Team (UX Team) to produce a visually detailed implementation that is both feature rich and performs well with real world models. A passion for visual design and familiarity with UI trends and technologies are essential in this role to bring fresh and innovative ideas to a project.

What You’ll Be Doing

Understand the basics of the User Centered Design approach taken by User Experience (UX) designers at Synopsys

Have an expectation/willingness to iteratively develop on features/designs in code

Demonstrate a strong ability to work collaboratively with designers to generate controls based on designs

Performs simple bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products. Research and investigate issues discovered by QA or product support feedback.

Works under the supervision and alongside UX and UI developers to implement given designs.

Actively participates in design brainstorming sessions and team meetings

Judges importance of, responds to, and prioritizes UX-focused software problems

Participate in and collaborate with other development, documentation, and testing professionals in all phases of the software development life cycle

What You’ll Need

Pursing a Bachelor's degree or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or Human-Computer Interaction (HCI or related field)

Working experience with C# or another appropriate object oriented programming language

Is detail-oriented and utilizes highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Understanding of the software development process and ability to communicate well with software development team

Strong team player who thrives in an open and collaborative environment

Ability to learn quickly and to collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team

Technical knowledge and experience with a UI Framework, such as WPF, including the creation of custom controls based on original designs

Tools & technologies for UI implementation:

Testing frameworks that can perform UI, Unit and integration tests on user interface components

Ability to

Smoothly iterate on designs, taking direction, adjusting, and re‑focusing towards a converged design

Communicate succinctly and professionally via email, chat, remote meetings, usability evaluations, etc.

Prototype rapidly using any tools available
