The Community Fundraising Intern contributes to WWP’s overall success by researching and identifying new fundraising audiences. This role will help develop innovative resources and strategies that enhance the team's ability to engage and inspire local communities to support WWP’s mission and programs.
Note: This internship is unpaid and is designed to offer educational training similar to that of an academic setting. This is not a virtual position.**HIRING TEAM TALENTCAST**: *to listen to this 7-minute conversation with Savannah Simmons, our Community Fundraising Manager, as she describes this position and what it takes to be successful in this role.***DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES*** Conduct research and provide reports on potential new fundraising outlets.* Utilize social media platforms to identify groups that the Community Fundraising team should target to share fundraising initiatives.* Create engaging resources for various fundraising channels, including flyers, thank-you emails, hosting engagement activities, and event challenges to enhance participation and engagement.* Identify gaps in Community Fundraising Team materials and propose new ideas to better support community event hosts.* Develop and maintain a working understanding of the Community Fundraising team’s responsibilities, the Business Development team’s objectives, and Wounded Warrior Project’s mission and purpose.* Other related duties as assigned.**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES*** Strong interpersonal and communication skills.* Ability to respond to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, working environment.* Effective organizational and time management skills.* Familiarity with social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) and their role in fundraising.* High energy level.
