Job Overview The

HELOC Lending Specialist

is responsible for originating, processing, and closing

Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOCs)

and home equity loans. As a subject matter expert in home equity products, you will deliver a superior member experience, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide loans from application through funding. This role also focuses on proactively identifying home equity opportunities to help members meet their financial needs.

Member Consultation & Relationship Building

Assist members in understanding HELOC and home equity loan options and guide them through the application process.

Build trust-based relationships by understanding members' financial goals and providing tailored home equity solutions.

Proactively identify opportunities to deepen member relationships through additional credit union products and services.

Loan Origination & Processing

Ensure all HELOC applications are accurate, complete, and compliant with federal and state regulations and credit union policies.

Coordinate the disbursement of approved HELOCs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

Maintain thorough documentation for all home equity transactions.

Business Development & Portfolio Growth

Drive business growth through timely follow-up on member inquiries, outbound/inbound calls, referrals, new memberships, and third-party resources.

Leverage member data and portfolio analytics to identify HELOC opportunities and collaborate with MLOs to grow loan portfolios.

Compliance & Collaboration

Ensure all lending activities comply with credit union policies and regulatory requirements.

Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure a seamless and positive member experience.

Provide support and training to team members on lending policies and procedures as needed.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's/Bachelor's in finance, business, or related field preferred.

2+ years in lending, financial services, or a related role.

Must obtain NMLS, Wisconsin Notary, and E-Notary License.

Knowledge of consumer lending, underwriting, and regulations.

Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
