Lower 9 Community Outreach and Development VISTA
AmeriCorps, New Orleans, LA, United States
HOUSING IS PROVIDED* The VISTA Member will be part of a cohort sponsored by Tulane University’s Center for Public Service (CPS). In addition to the benefits offered by AmeriCorps, Tulane CPS VISTAs receive housing at no cost in our downtown graduate housing building. The Tulane VISTA program partners with 20 non‑profit organizations serving the New Orleans community to place VISTA members in high‑impact, capacity‑building roles. VISTA members work with one organization during their term of service on a variety of activities to improve their partner site’s anti‑poverty programs. Tulane hosts a weekly staff meeting for all VISTA members to review activities and projects as well as ongoing professional development workshops to help build the skill sets of our members for success this year and beyond. You can learn more about ongoing activities at https://tulanevistaprogram.wordpress.com.
