Job Requisition: DIREC001390 Employment Type: Full-Time Shift: Days Hours Per Week: 40-hour/week Hiring Range: Starting salary of $87,500.00 Responsibilities: Develop strategic and operational plans for the service areas that are in alignment with overall organizational strategies and operating imperatives. Identify, define, and monitor key performance indicators to ensure that standards and outcomes are being achieved. Established a department dashboard to track and trend KPI. Formulates, communicates, and analyzes/monitors operating expenditures to ensure that spending aligns with budgets. Develops a comprehensive waste management program for the organization inclusive of goals, operation requirements, reporting and monitoring procedures, and documentation for all forms of waste. Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, accrediting body requirements; and industry standards for operations of EVS and Laundry services. Established a quality and performance improvement plan for areas of responsibility inclusive of incorporating best practice and industry benchmarks in annual planning and goal setting. Oversee all recruitment, onboarding, orientation and ongoing training for all associate team members is EVS and Laundry. Oversees 3rd party contracts and performance for all 3rd party vendors providing EVS and Laundry services to off-site locations. Ensure standards of performance are in place; are being monitored and met; and are being reported on a timely basis to all vendors. Collaborates with leader colleagues and conducts regular rounding and inspections of all facilities to ensure standards are being met and facilities are presentable at all times. Maintains oversight for equipment and materials used in EVS and Laundry Services and collaborates with Facilities and Bio-med (as appropriate) colleagues to ensure that all equipment is in good working order. Monitors patient and staff feedback to improve EVS and Laundry quality and service and responds to and resolves any complaints or issues related to service areas in a timely manner. Conducts routine audits to ensure efficient workflows and resource utilization are in place to drive regulatory and budgetary compliance, patient and customer satisfaction and achievement of departmental and organizational goals. Effectively uses time and attendance and payroll system and other human resource information systems and processes to effectively oversee labor pool. Develops and manages the department's budget, including labor and non-labor expenses. Monitors expenses and identifies opportunities for cost savings without sacrificing quality. Stays updated and informed regarding industry trends and incorporates best practices into operations. Develop and monitor staffing patterns to ensure safe, productive, and exceptional service while meeting applicable standards. Responsible for providing leadership to personnel. Provides ongoing feedback to staff concerning their performance, implementing corrective action as needed and per human resource policy. Ensures performance evaluations are thorough, timely and include goal setting for each individual. Establishes systems for open communication and problem solving, encourages employee involvement in safety and health standards, hazard analysis, and performance improvement initiatives. Promotes growth and development in self and others. Develops and documents orientation and ongoing training programs for departmental personnel. Effectively interprets and implements Human Resource policies and consults with Human Resources as necessary. Encourages and supports applicable certification of all eligible staff. Education, Training & Experience: Bachelor's degree in business, Hospitality Management or related field required. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in EVS or hospitality required, preferably in a healthcare or institutional setting. Minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience required. Proficient in MS Office suite required; MS Project, PM software, and EVS software systems preferred. Certifications / Licensure: Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Professional (CHESP) certification preferred. Valid NYS Driver's License required.
