Job Description The Director of Track & Field and Cross Country is responsible for the growth and development of the mens and womens track & field and cross country programs by planning and directing the activities of the team. The primary duty of the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country is instructing student-athletes in the skills and strategies unique to competition in the sport.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

Experience coaching at the NCAA Division I, II, or III level

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher

Successful background as a collegiate track & field student-athlete and/or coach at the NCAA Division I, II, or III level

Thorough knowledge of the sport

Strong communication, organizational, and team building skills

Knowledge of NCAA and Conference rules and regulations

CPR certified

Job Duties

Promote the mission of Lincoln Memorial University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large

Engage in instruction of sport skills and strategies to develop student-athletes athletically

Ensure the academic, social, and athletic development and provide opportunities for growth in those areas for all student-athletes

Recruitment and retention of all student-athletes in the women’s soccer program

Supervise all personnel assigned to the women’s soccer program

Prepare a schedule of competitions and submit schedule to the Athletic Director for approval

Prepare and submit proposed budget to the Athletic Director

Participate in efforts to collect, analyze, and report data for the athletic department in the University’s planning, assessment, and evaluation processes for institutional effectiveness

Assist in the production of outcomes-assessment and long-range planning for the athletic department

Maintain an inventory and order equipment and supplies as needed by the program

Maintain excellent condition of practice and competition facilities

Participate in various fund-raising activities for the program and the Department

Oversee student-athletes while in the weight room and assist in maintaining the upkeep of the weight room

Adhere to the NCAA and Conference rules

Complete required institutional and program accreditation reports and other reports necessary for the operation and advancement of the University

Teach up to 6 credit hours of appropriate University and/or J. Frank White Academy courses, the equivalent thereof

Other assignments and duties as assigned by the Athletic Director
