Team Car Care is seeking a strategic and operationally strong Director of Benefits to lead the design, administration, and optimization of our benefits programs across more than 450 Jiffy Lube locations nationwide. This role oversees the full spectrum of teammate benefits including health and welfare plans, retirement programs (401k), leave administration, and workers' compensation programs. The Director will ensure our programs support teammate wellbeing, drive retention, and remain financially sustainable while maintaining compliance across a complex multi-state workforce. This leader will partner closely with HR, Finance, Legal, and Operations leadership to continuously improve teammate experience while managing risk and cost. The position will have oversight on a team of 2 persons. Key Responsibilities
Benefits Strategy & Program Design Develop and execute Team Car Care's national benefits strategy aligned with company growth and talent objectives Design and manage programs including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, voluntary benefits, and leave programs Lead the annual open enrollment strategy and execution Evaluate and recommend benefit plan changes that enhance teammate value while managing cost trends Retirement Programs (401k) Oversee administration of Team Car Care's 401(k) retirement plan Partner with recordkeepers, investment advisors, and fiduciaries to ensure strong plan governance Monitor plan participation, compliance testing, and annual audits Lead retirement plan committee support and fiduciary oversight processes Drive initiatives that improve retirement readiness and participation among teammates Workers' Compensation & Risk Management Lead the strategy and administration of the company's workers' compensation program across all states Partner with Operations and Safety teams to reduce injury rates and claim costs Oversee claims management, return-to-work programs, and carrier relationships Analyze workers' compensation trends and implement prevention strategies Ensure compliance with all state reporting and insurance requirements Vendor & Broker Management Manage relationships with benefits brokers, retirement plan providers, workers' compensation carriers, and third-party administrators Lead vendor RFP processes and negotiate service agreements Monitor vendor performance and service delivery Compliance & Governance Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations including: ERISA ACA COBRA HIPAA Department of Labor requirements Oversee required filings including 5500 reporting and plan documentation Partner with Legal and Finance to ensure fiduciary governance and risk management Benefits Operations & Administration Oversee day-to-day benefits operations including enrollment, eligibility, and vendor integrations Ensure accurate benefits administration within Workday HRIS Develop scalable processes that support a large hourly workforce Data Analytics & Cost Management Monitor benefits utilization, cost trends, and ROI Develop executive reporting on healthcare spend, workers' compensation costs, and retirement participation Identify opportunities to control costs while improving teammate access to benefits Teammate Experience & Communication Lead benefits communication strategies that help teammates understand and maximize their benefits Develop education programs around healthcare utilization, financial wellness, and retirement planning Partner with field leadership to support benefits education for frontline teammates Leadership & Team Development Build and lead a high-performing benefits team Collaborate with HR leadership on broader Total Rewards and teammate wellbeing initiatives Drive continuous improvement in benefits delivery and teammate service Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field 812+ years of progressive experience in benefits, retirement, or total rewards Experience managing 401(k) plans and workers' compensation programs Strong knowledge of ERISA, ACA, and multi-state compliance requirements Experience managing benefits programs for large multi-state workforces (2,000+ employees) Strong vendor management and negotiation experience Experience with Workday or similar HRIS systems Preferred
CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) or similar certification Experience supporting large field-based or retail workforces Experience with self-funded health plans or captive insurance strategies Successful candidates will demonstrate: Strategic and analytical thinking Strong financial and risk management acumen Ability to translate complex benefits programs into clear teammate communication Vendor negotiation and contract management expertise A strong service mindset supporting both field teammates and leadership
